Zen, Zone and Comfort Zone

Hi all,
I was alone one day , at my coaching center thinking, meditating almost, and random thoughts came dancing in to my mind, till the diffused thoughts , oscillating at random attained a pattern and Voila !there was clarity.Wow ! This must be Zen ,The chan ,The dhyan , that can distill pure fragrant thoughts out of swirling insanity. I was at peace, in tune with the rhythms of life,
I could hear the song the brown bird was singing, better I understood the purpose. I could see why the ants were marching. time started to flow slowly and smoothly , like honey dripping out of the tilted pot.

I started thinking, as a cricketer, when does time appear to slow down and you can almost sense what is going to happen?
That is when you are in that elusive state of mind and affairs called the zone, where time actually appears to slow down, there is such clarity of vision and purpose of action. that the result , is but a foregone conclusion. Then , the player is said to be in his zone, where he performs to his max potential with seemingly no strain , and graceful in his movements, he appears to transcend time.

Well , now that you me and the player, knows what it it is to be in the zone, what prevents you from being there always? or how can you be there?
Well, i think one way is to stretch and come out of your comfort zone. You have to shift barriers always.Your goal setting has to be dynamic. KEEP CHALLENGING YOUR SELF, PUSH THOSE FRONTIERS BACK AND BEFORE YOU KNOW YOU WILL BE MORE TIMES IN THE ZONE THAN OUTSIDE

Just thinking about the zone raises goosebumps for me and reminded me ofAyrton Senna, a triple F1 champion.
Beyond his exceptional driving skills Senna was one of the sport's most compelling personalities.Intensely introspective and extremely passionate, he used driving as a means for self-discovery, and racing as a metaphor for life. Here are 2 of his quotes that really highlight what Biju sir mentiions:
“The harder I push, the more I find within myself. I am always looking for the next step, a different world to go into, areas where I have not been before. It’s lonely driving a Grand Prix car, but very absorbing. I have experienced new sensations and I want more. That is my excitement, my motivation.”
And this is him explaining being in the zone:
"...the last qualifying session. I was already on pole, then by half a second and then one second and I just kept going. Suddenly I was nearly two seconds faster than anybody else, including my team mate with the same car. And suddenly I realised that I was no longer driving the car consciously. I was driving it by a kind of instinct, only I was in a different dimension. It was like I was in a tunnel. Not only the tunnel under the hotel but the whole circuit was a tunnel. I was just going and going, more and more and more and more. I was way over the limit but still able to find even more.
Then suddenly something just kicked me. I kind of woke up and realised that I was in a different atmosphere than you normally are. My immediate reaction was to back off, slow down. I drove slowly back to the pits and I didn't want to go out any more that day. It frightened me because I was well beyond my conscious understanding."
